Dream and Aspire

In these stressful times, we have lost touch with ourselves, and with those around us even as we are hooked to our mobiles 24×7. Our sense of purpose and motivation seem to have deserted us and probably, hypothecated to the digital ‘maya’. We don’t dream anymore. Hence, we don’t aspire anymore. There seems, no fun left in our lives. Everything that we need as information, is googled, and everything needed for a living is capsuled. It is as if the digital ‘maya’ is all over us, deciding and controlling our every step. Can we ever do a digital nirvana? Can we dream and aspire again?

Dreams and aspirations are mirrors that reflect our deepest desires and values. They encourage self-discovery as we contemplate what truly ignites our passions. This introspection leads to a greater understanding of ourselves, fostering a sense of authenticity and alignment with our life’s choices. Education, whether formal or lifelong learning, empowers us to refine our aspirations and channel our efforts effectively.

In the earlier days, people often found joy and entertainment in simpler and more analog pursuits. They fostered stronger interpersonal connections and a deeper connection to their families, their communities to the society and the natural world. Some people may still enjoy these activities alongside their use of technology for entertainment, but many of them have turned into digital wrecks. Should we not revisit our childhood and seek reparation for our digital sins?

‘Fun living’ suggests that we focus on having fun, experiencing joy, and engaging in activities that brings happiness and satisfaction. Rediscovering the old pleasures would mean pursuing hobbies, spending time with loved ones, exploring new places, trying new experiences, reading and generally seeking out activities that bring positive emotions. Not only will it help in digital detoxification, but will bring us near to each other. It could be subjective, varying greatly from person to person. What one person finds fun and fulfilling, might differ from another’s preferences. For some, it could be adventurous and spontaneous. For others, it could be a balanced approach that integrates leisure and enjoyment into the daily routines. That said, returning to basics is important.

How do we do that? We must learn to dream, and dream big. It will lead us to realise our aspirations. Dreams paint the canvas of our minds, with possibilities blooming without constraints of reality. What is ambition if one cannot dream? While dreams allow us to explore uncharted territories, envision alternate realities, unleash our creativity and realise our aspirations, the digital toxins negate the very essence. It is through trials that we develop resilience and perseverance. Such qualities, cultivated through the struggle to achieve aspirations, equip us with the mental fortitude needed to weather life’s storms and emerge stronger than before.

Our aspirations, are dreams that are anchored to reality, a fusion of imagination and practicality, forming a bridge between the intangible and the achievable. Both dreams and aspirations are the seeds of our potential and the driving force behind our personal growth and achievement. They give us direction, purpose, and the motivation to push beyond our limits in pursuit of a more fulfilling life.

The pursuit of dreams and aspirations is not without challenges. Setbacks and failures are inevitable companions on the journey. Why make it difficult by adding digital overheads. Dreams often reside on the other side of fear, challenging us to step outside our comfort zones. Pursuing aspirations requires embracing change and facing uncertainty head-on. This transformative process fosters personal growth and cultivates adaptability, enabling us to navigate the dynamic landscapes of modern life.

Dreams and aspirations are the threads that weave our experience. They fuel innovation, foster our personal growth, and connect us to our deepest passions. The journey from dream to aspiration to realization is a testament to human potential, a reminder that our capacity for growth and transformation has no bounds. By nurturing our dreams, embracing our aspirations, and persistently striving toward our goals, we embark on a lifelong quest for self-discovery, achievement, and the creation of a life rich with purpose and meaning. In order to succeed, we must eschew our love for all things digital, and embark on a path of digital nirvana. Does hearing and reacting to inanimate devices help us ever? Doing it with the self would at least help the self-realise. Isn’t it?
